direct marketing campaigns. The messages or offers could be based
on any number of selection criteria such as geographical location,
lifestyle or previous purchase behaviour.
The results achieved by a one-to-one campaign can be overwhelming.
At best, most direct mail campaigns can expect a 1% or 2% response
rate with a corresponding 2% or 5% conversion. A well designed,
targeted mailer containing relevant and timely information will stand
out to the point where this approach can achieve 4 or 5 times the
response and conversion rates of ‘mass’ mailings.
